‘Frameworks’ A Methodology and a Tool for the Representation of Structured Thinking

This First Edition Book is an introduction to ‘Frameworks’ – some of the ideas around ‘Frameworks’; the context of ‘Frameworks’ in the 21st-century digital world; the Methodology and the Tool.

It is being aimed at Teachers (Primary and foundational) and their Pupils. To think about issues of complexity in the Digital World. To think about the value of “structured thinking” and the communication and sharing of thinking and understanding. Teachers and their Pupils to work together to learn about ‘Frameworks’ as a possible solution to complexity and the value of focusing on key ideas and key things. To appreciate the value of naming things carefully. To appreciate the value – of *context* for thinking. Individual and independent thinking – where attention is being grabbed by the news, the headlines, the ideas and opinions are being delivered on smartphones.

This is the ‘Frameworks’ Meta Model. It is composed of Objects: Frame; Core Spinal Model (in Thinking & Modelling/Display Space); Stuff Box (integral to Frame); Elaborate Button (integral to Frame).

This image depicts the Coloured Meta Model with a partly Elaborated Model. This image was constructed with the ‘JavaNED’ Tool in the process of developing ideas for the Methodology. It is part of the vision of ‘Frameworks’ Version 4.0).

This is a screenshot of the ‘Frameworks’ Tool Version 3.1 – depicting the stage of modelling where the Focus Node hs been named and the Context Node has been named.

The Thinker-Modeller now has the option to Save (short default) model OR to ELABORATE a greater model.

To explore a new paradigm: a visual graphical (GUI) interface for the organisation and sharing of key information. Models of Thinking and Models of Understanding as Browsers and interfaces for key stuff.
